THE BARRENS / ABOUT

A place shaped by passion.

The story begins with the land, the people who care for it, and the community that grows around it.

The Barrens is envisioned initially as a roadside farm stand and retail space located two miles from Scenic Route 1 in Stockton Springs, Maine. We are rooted in a simple mission: to cultivate community and conserve access to the outdoors by connecting people with Maine's native lowbush wild blueberry barrens. Conceived as an inclusive, eco-conscious gathering space, The Barrens is designed for people from all backgrounds to connect during and after the harvest season ends.

This vision brings to life a grassroots cultural hub featuring a 13-acre trail system, local art showcases, live music, artisan goods, workshops, and backyard skateboard jam sessions.

The Barrens Micro Resort is the flagship vision, designed to bridge luxury hospitality with deep ecological and cultural connection. Perched atop a hill at the edge of the 8-acre wild blueberry barren, the resort features custom cabins tucked comfortably into the tree line, offering an immersive stay for those who want to live in tune with nature, creativity, and community.

At the heart of the future property lies a planned private action sports park featuring biking trails, a mountain bike park, and a concrete flow skatepark. Opening its gates to the public once a month for the weekend Blueberry Jam, the space is envisioned as a vibrant celebration of music, art, and action sports, fostering a deeper, shared appreciation for the outdoors and the local community.
